LAWTON, Okla. – Another slow start leads dooms the Aggies in their 78-74 loss to UT Tyler; Kendall Scott puts up a career-best 20 points and double-double.

The Cameron Aggies entered tonight’s game looking to rebound from a pair of disappointing contests a week ago. With their backs against the wall as the season’s end nears, and fighting for their postseason lives, the Aggies returned home to host the UT Tyler Patriots. The Black and Gold also entered tonight looking for a season sweep of the Patriots, having already beat them in Tyler, Texas a month prior.

CU got off to a slow start, at one point in the first half being down by as many as 11 points. A huge contrast from their 71-52 runaway win over the Patriots in Jan.

The Aggies ended the half down just 44-36. The Black and Gold shot efficiently from beyond the arc posting a jaw-dropping 50-percent from downtown. Andrew Nguyen was able to knock down both of the triples he attempted in the first twenty minutes, on his way to seven first-half points. The Houston, native finished the contest with nine points.

Despite being one of the best rebounding teams in the conference, the Aggies were only a plus one on the glass in the first twenty minutes.

This game went back-and-forth throughout the second half. A big reason for the Aggies hanging around in this one was Kendall Scott. The big fella finished with a 20 point 12 rebound double-double.

Brock Schreiner finished the game with 13 points, three rebounds, and five assists. He was a huge part of the Black and Gold’s second-half success.

The Patriots were able to score 23 points off the Aggies 16 turnovers. UT Tyler hit the trey ball at a 47 percent clip.

Cameron saw four players reach double figures, as Jalen Nicholas posted ten points, five rebounds, and a trio of assists. Darius Green joined the double-digit club with 12 points and six rebounds.

Darius Alford carried the way for the Patriots, with a game-high 22 points, including a trio of triples. Alford also dished out three assists. Micah Fuller chipped in 20 points, with four assists, and a pair of rebounds for the Patriots.

With the loss, the Black and Gold fall to 6-17 overall, 5-12 within the conference, and 3-4 against division opponents.

The Aggies face another LSC divisional foe on Saturday, Feb. 15, when they host the A&M-Commerce Lions in a rematch of a Jan. 2 matchup that saw the Lions come away with a 73-69 in Commerce, Texas.
