RICHARDSON, Texas – Cameron University men’s golfer Tyler Kaman was named the Lone Star Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week, after his strong play at the Houston Classic on Monday and Tuesday.

Kaman led the Aggies to a fourth-place finish at the Houston Classic in Humble, Texas this week. The junior had a team-low score of 219, carding a 72 in the first round, a 74 in the second, and then a 73 in the final round. He finished tied for fourth individually, just five strokes back of the tournament leader.

A business major at Cameron, Kaman tallied seven birdies during his three rounds of play and made par on 40 of the 54-holes played during the two-day event.

The Fredricksburg, Texas native now has a pair of top-5 finishes on his resume this season as he also finished tied for fifth at the RJGA South Central Fall Preview in the fall. Kaman carded a one-under 215 for that 54-hole event.

Kaman and the rest of the Aggie men’s golf team will be back in action Feb. 24-25 as they compete in the St. Mary’s Rattler Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
