LAWTON, Okla. – Cameron men’s basketball claimed their first Lone Star Conference weekly honor of the season on Monday, as Jordan Lewis was named the Offensive Player of the Week.

Lewis scored a career-high 22 points in the Aggies first Lone Star Conference win at Western New Mexico on Saturday. The senior was an efficient 8-11 from the floor and went 5-8 from three-point range in the 65-59 win. Lewis hit multiple clutch game-tying shots down the stretch for the Black and Gold in the back and forth affair.

A native of Houston, Texas, Lewis is now averaging 10.9 points per game this season, while shooting 53 percent from the field and over 45 percent from three.

Including last Saturday, the political science major has three double-figure scoring games this season with 17 against Southwestern Oklahoma and 19 against Rogers State. He is tied for 16th in the LSC with 2.3 made three-point field goals per outing.

Lewis is the Cameron men’s first weekly award recipient since Tyus Momoh claimed the Defensive Player of the Week honor on Dec. 20 of last year.

Additionally, DBU’s Tylan Dean was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Week for the last seven days.

Lewis and the Aggie men will be back on the road on Saturday, Dec. 14, when they visit UT Permian Basin, who is currently 9-2 to start the 2019-20 season.
