RICHARDSON, Texas — The Lone Star Conference weekly basketball honors were released on Monday, and Aggie Zach Dumas was named Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts on the court.

Dumas, a psychology major from Huffman, Texas, averaged 24 points and 4.5 rebounds in CU’s two contests last week. He shot 48 percent from the field, went 3-5 from the perimeter, and converted on 21 of his 23 free throw attempts.

Against Dallas Baptist, Dumas had a CU career-high 28 points, scoring 26 of those during a second half comeback that led to a 79-78 win. He missed just one of his 14 free throws to go along with 3-4 shooting from three. A few days later, the senior had 20 points in a loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State, while going 8-9 from the charity stripe.

Through five games, CU’s top-scorer also leads the LSC with 19.4 points per game, and an 89.5 free throw percentage. He is also top-10 in the league in field goal percentage (40.3) and top-20 in steals per game (1.2).

Dumas and the rest of the Aggies host Arkansas-Fort Smith on Tuesday, Nov. 27 beginning at 7 p.m. before starting league play later this week against West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico.
