Aggies acing at ITA’s
MARYVILLE, Missouri (September 27) – CU’s men’s tennis team is having an outstanding weekend so far at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Championships up north in Missouri. With one day left in the three-day tournament, the Aggies are still on track to bring home both the single and doubles titles.
In the singles bracket CU’s Daniel Pazos is currently in the semifinals and will face Luke Hawk of Abilene Christian tomorrow afternoon, two matches away from the singles title.
Cameron’s tandem of Pazos and Diego Trojano are nearly in the championship match. Their semifinal match was suspended due to darkness tonight, but the Aggies were up 6-3.
“We are playing wonderful,” Head Coach James Helvey said. “As of right now we have the best team in the region and we should definitely stay (ranked) number one.”
The tournament’s remaining matches will be played tomorrow (Sunday), and a full release will be send out following the conclusion of the tournament.
