Dr. Davis Joyce’s previous book, "An Oklahoma I Had Never Seen Before: Alternative Views of Oklahoma History," was for a long period the No. 1 book in the OU Press catalogue. Fans of the Matt Damon-Ben Affleck Oscar-winning film "Good Will Hunting" may recall mention of historian Howard Zinn in that film. Another of Dr. Joyce's books is "Howard Zinn: A Radical American Vision." Zinn, in turn, has written favorable comments of Dr. Joyce’s latest work, "Alternative Oklahoma: Contrarian Views of the Sooner State."

Tickets are now on sale for the reader’s theater presentation of the play “Ghost Dance.”

“Ghost Dance” is a play written by Annette Arkeketa, a native Oklahoman of Otoe-Missouria heritage. I first met Annette when she was in high school, more years ago than either of us will claim. She now works in civil service at Fort Sill. She has always been active as a creative writer. These days she also creates for the stage and film. This particular piece has already been produced in New York City, Santa Fe and Tulsa. This will be its first production in this part of the state where it’s being presented in reader’s theater format. After the show each evening, Annette will be on hand to discuss the show and its subject matter -- the repatriation of ancestral remains.
