Aggie Tennis to start 2008 on fire

SKILLMAN, New Jersey (November 28) – Although the Spring 2008 tennis season hasn’t officially started, the Aggie men’s and women’s tennis teams are already red hot. In the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) fall national rankings recently released, the Aggie men’s team is ranked No. 12 in the nation while the women are ranked No. 27.

Aggies fall to 0-4 after tournament

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (November 24) – The Cameron men’s basketball team (0-4) wrapped up play at the St. Mary’s University Invitational tournament this evening in San Antonio, Texas. The Aggies failed to secure a win at the event after losing to Paul Quinn College (4-3), 89-84, on Friday and to St. Mary’s University (3-2), 66-63 tonight.

Thanksgiving Classic: Wrap-up

LAWTON, Oklahoma (November 24) – The Cameron University/Powerade Thanksgiving Classic women’s basketball tournament wrapped up play this evening in Cameron’s Aggie Gym. The Aggie women’s team lost both of their games in the event, dropping game one to nationally ranked (#3) Emporia State (4-1) on Friday, 80-60, and losing to Henderson State (2-3) tonight, 54-52. Fellow Lone Star Conference team Central Oklahoma also competed in the tournament.

CU goes 0-2 at PSU Tourney

PITTSBURG, Kansas (November 17) – The Cameron men’s basketball team (0-2) competed in the Pittsburg State University classic tournament this weekend taking on the likes of Missouri Southern (1-0) and Pittsburg State (2-0). Unfortunately the Aggies came away with two losses after falling to MSSU on Friday in overtime, 82-81, and then to PSU tonight 85-50. This weekend’s tournament was the official start to the 2007-2008 regular season for the Aggies.

Aggie women stun #17 Griffons

EMPORIA, Kansas (November 17) – After losing to #3 Emporia State yesterday afternoon, the Cameron women’s basketball team (1-1) rebounded to stun #17 Missouri Western State (1-1) tonight at the Emporia State Classic tournament in Emporia, Kansas. Cameron lost to ESU (1-0) 81-63 on Friday, and defeated MWSU 53-43 tonight. The ESU tournament marked the beginning of the 2007-2008 regular season for Cameron.

CANYON, Texas (November 9) – After a very impressive late-season run, the Cameron Aggie volleyball team (14-16, 6-6 LSC) ended their season tonight after being knocked from the Lone Star Conference Championship tournament. CU’s playoff loss came courtesy of a 3-0 sweep at the hands of the Bronchos of the University of Central Oklahoma (31-5, 11-1 LSC). The match lasted under an hour and a half and was scored 30-25, 30-20, 30-25.

Cameron announces inaugural HOF class

LAWTON, Oklahoma (November 8) – In a ceremony last evening, Cameron Athletic Director Jim Jackson announced the ten members of the inaugural class of the Cameron University Athletics Hall of Fame. Over 100 people attended the Gold Club/Hall of Fame event held at the Best Western in Lawton where the inductees were officially announced.

Aggies move on to Semis at LSC

CANYON, Texas (November 8, 2007) – The surging Cameron Aggie volleyball team (13-15, 6-6 LSC) extended their season by another match today with a 3-1 sweep of the Midwestern State Mustangs (27-4, 10-2 LSC) in the first round of the Lone Star Conference Championship volleyball tournament. The Aggies, the #6 seed, defeated the Mustangs, the #3 seed, in a match that was scored 25-30, 30-28, 30-21, 30-20.

CU ends season with 3-1 win over ASU

SAN ANGELO, Texas (November 3) – In the final regular season match of the season, the Cameron Aggie volleyball team (13-15, 6-6 LSC) defeated Angelo State University (6-21, 4-8 LSC) on the road in Texas. Cameron narrowly missed out on the sweep, defeating the Rambelles 3-1 (31-29, 30-24, 25-30, 30-28).

Ags take 14th at Regionals, Haidat All-Region

JOPLIN, Missouri (November 4) – In what turned out to be the final event on this year’s cross country schedule, the Cameron Aggies took part in the NCAA Division II Regional Championship this afternoon in Joplin, Missouri. The Aggies finished in 14th place out of 16 schools with a total of 329 points. A total of 116 runners from 20 total schools took part in the ten-kilometer event.

Playoff-bound Aggies swept by ‘Cats

ABILENE, Texas (November 1) – Having already clinched a berth in the Lone Star Conference Postseason tournament, the Cameron Aggie volleyball team (12-15, 5-6 LSC) hit the road today for the first of their final two regular season matches. The first stop on the trip was Abilene where the Aggies took on the Wildcats of Abilene Christian University (14-12, 8-3 LSC). On ACU’s Senior Night, the Aggies were swept by the Wildcats, 3-0 (18-30, 24-30, 28-30).
